Tina Badi, a popular University at Albany cafeteria worker for more than 50 years, passed away Sunday at the age of 92, a Chartwells manager confirmed.
Badi, who most recently served as a card swiper on Dutch Quad, had been hospitalized for the last week and a half with pneumonia. She was pronounced dead at around 2 p.m., the manager said.
She began working in Draper Hall on the downtown campus in 1957. Badi had worked in various capacities in her 52 years at UAlbany, including various managerial positions. She moved to Dutch Quad last year after working at Indian Quad for 37 years.
Badi was well known for her various pins with clever puns, which she wore each day. She told the ASP in September that she had more than 100 pins to pick from each morning.
Funeral and viewing details are not known at this time.
