There is a "Peeping Tom" on the University at Albany campus. His interest: female students in the restroom.

A student reported last Monday that a camera phone was held under her bathroom stall while in the restroom.

The graduate student was using the bathroom in Husted Hall, located next to Richardson Hall on Western Ave. of UAlbany's downtown campus.

She noticed that the person in the bathroom stall next door held under the partition between the two stalls what appeared to be a cell phone.

The student shouted upon seeing the phone in response, and the person left the restroom right after the incident.

"I think that's really creepy and as a grad student you know we have enough stress, why have something else to be stressed about," said student Sarah Oran, in a statement to News10.

Female students are concerned about the incident and are hesitant to use the common Husted Hall bathroom for the future. Oran said she would be thinking twice the next time she uses a restroom on campus.

"While this type of incident is not widespread at the university, we urge everyone to be alert to unusual or inappropriate behavior and to report such behavior to University Police," said Karl Luntta, Media Relations Director at UAlbany.

The University Police Department was alerted to the unusual activity and currently investigating the incident.
